When A Full House Turns Into A Bad Beat Jackpot

Hitting a full house should give a poker player some confidence when it comes to scooping a pot. But then your rival shows quads and all those hopes are dashed. In an interesting twist, a player facing a bad beat ended up hitting a bad beat jackpot for over $53K. 

In a hand played on Natural8, a player named ‘VendaS’ had pocket jacks while his opponent had Deuces. The board ran out AA22A. These community cards gave ‘VendaS’ Aces full of Jacks but then his opponent named ‘Kevez’ had hit quads. 

This hand could have been rather painful for ‘VendaS’ but this hand was eligible for the bad beat jackpot. The losing player received the lion’s share of the $87,135 prize pool. 

‘VendaS’ received $53,787 from the bad beat jackpot prize pool while ‘Kevez’ got $16,515. Four other players on the table got $4,302. 

To be eligible for a bad beat jackpot players have to grind on tables of Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, PLO5, Short Deck, Rush & Cash Hold’em or Rush & Cash PLO. Not all hands are valid for the bad beat jackpot on Natural8. 
For Hold’em players have to hit Aces full of Tens or better. When it comes to PLO, players hitting four of a kind with Deuces or better will be eligible for the bad beat jack. For valid hands see below:
