Czech Republic national, Roman Hrabec took down Event 1 of the ongoing 2024 Super High Roller Series, held at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa in North Cyprus.

The $25,750 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em (8-Max) tournament witnessed Hrabec nail the top title after emerging victorious from a player pool of 39. This win marks Hrabec’s maiden PGT title for an impressive payday of $316,000.

Hrabec turned the tables around after being the short-stack around the money bubble. The final table of Event 1 was a star-studded affair, with notables like Santhosh Suvarna, Sam Greenwood and Leonard Maue fighting for the coveted trophy.

Hrabec's journey in this event was marked by crucial moments, including his double-up against Norway’s Mokri holding Snowmen and knocking out German player Maue, who had pocket fives.

The heads-up session with India’s Santhosh Suvarna was nothing less than a nail-biter. After folding a crucial hand to avoid elimination, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner found an Ace-Deuce to go all-in against his rival.

But Hrabec had pockets kings which easily defeated Suvarna’s Deuce-pair and the latter ended up as the runner-up for $220,000.
