Fast-growing online poker platform, KKPoker saw its ambassador David Dongwoo Ko ship the €5,200 8-Game at the European Poker Tour (EPT) 2024. Ko took a pay cheque of €37,550 for his maiden EPT title.

The €5,200 8-Game event is a very recent addition to the PokerStars EPT Barcelona schedule which explains why there were fewer entries for the tournament.

The event which was inches away from getting cancelled, only had 18 registered entries. The player pool was able to generate a humble prize pool of €87,300. Ko took down the coveted EPT title after defeating Triple Crown winner Mike Watson in heads-up.

Ko's win was surely impressive as he locked horns against a heavy-weight like Watson. The heads-up battle lasted well into the wee hours of the night, concluding at 1:30 AM local time.
As the runner-up, the Canadian pro had a payday of €23,550. Benny Glaser, another notable player from the international circuit who is also a well-known mixed games expert, was placed third €15,700.
Another veteran poker player Vladimir Troyanovskiy busted in the fourth position for a sum of €10,500.

Ko expressed his excitement and commented on his win by saying, "It feels amazing to win." Ko also mentioned that it was disappointing for him to exit the EPT Barcelona Main Event earlier on.

Ko participated in the 8-Game after two failed attempts in the EPT Main Event. Talking about registering in a mixed games tournament, Ko said, “I’m getting sick of No-Limit Hold'em."

But the KKPoker ambassador also stressed on the importance of putting in as much volume as possible given the limited availability of mixed game in the circuit.

KKPoker announced Ko as their ambassador in June 2024. The online poker platform had revealed this news on their website and social media handles. The 23-year-old is slowly but steadily cementing his position in the global poker arena.
