Martin Zamani dominated the action that unfolded on Day 4 of the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event at the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona.

The high stakes American pro did not lose steam when it came to betting, raising, and re-raising. But, it was French player Sylvain Berthelot who shipped the title and trophy after cutting a three-way deal.

This Berthelot’s first major live title and career-best score of €499,224 payday, as Zamani's momentum then became a thing of the past. Zamani took the third place for €463,250.

Berthelot, Zamani, and runner-up Santiago Nadal struck an Independent Chip Model deal after the elimination of PokerStars Team Pro Parker Talbot.

Berthelot, an amateur player with just $7,443 in total live earnings, started the day as a short stack. But he managed to chip up to nearly half-million-dollar.

Berthelot reportedly took a break from poker to focus on family but made a comeback with the support of his friends.

"I can't believe it. I need my friends to pinch me because it's such a dream. I don't have the words. I'm really happy,” Berthelot mentioned.

It's an unbelievable sentiment. I can't explain my feeling," added the 2024 Estrellas Main Event champion.

The Estrellas Main Event had a competitive player field of 7,138 entries that inflated the final prize pool to €6,852,480. Berthelot, who lives in Lisbon, was the shortest stack among the 19 players who returned for Day 4.

The French national remained patient with his 10 big blind stack and found good spots to steal the blinds.

"I don't have any magic potion; I guess this tournament was for me," Berthelot commented. "Inside my head, I got the feeling I don't know why. This was my tournament. My one time, the big one time," stated the new winner.

Talbot, a veteran PokerStars streamer, has been running hot this year. His impressive run started in February when he finished runner-up in the EPT Paris FPS High Roller for €334,180.

Despite facing taunts from another PokerStars ambassador Benjamin Spragg aka "Spraggy" for not shipping a tournament, Talbot did not lose hope.

In March he captured his first live title in the Irish Poker Open Luxon Pay €5,000 High Roller for a sum of €134,279.

Two months later, Talbot  nailed his first SCOOP title in a $530 NLHE event for $70,128. Once again Talbot finished second in the PokerStars Maryland State Poker Championship for a payday of $73,719.

Spragg was among Talbot rail hoping to see him clinch the coveted title. But sadly the game did not go his way and he finished fourth for €227,000.

The heads-up match was pretty short-lived, as Berthelot hit the nut flush against Nadal's Broadway straight and it was game over for Nadal as runner-up for €463,250.
