The 2024 Super High Roller Series recently concluded at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa in North Cyprus. The final results have surely caused a shake up on the top spot. The pro who is holding the numero uno spot is Jeremy Ausmus.
The American pro, who cashed in three Super High Roller Series tournaments, earned $1,635,000 in winnings and collected 661 PGT points, leaving behind Michael Rocco to clinch the top spot on the coveted PGT leaderboard.
The opportunity to earn PGT points at the Super High Roller Series proved quite beneficial to Ausmus. The pro finished sixth in Event #2: $25,750 No-Limit Hold'em (7-Max) for $62,000 and 37 points.
Ausmus finished in the runner-up position in Event #4: $51,500 No-Limit Hold'em (7-Max) for a payday of $373,000 and 224 points.
Despite entering the final day of the Super High Roller Bowl IX as the shortest stack, Ausmus managed to climb one place higher. He took the third spot for $1,200,000 and 400 points.
On being asked about potentially nailing the PGT Player of the Year, Ausmus stated, "Going into the year, I feel like I am one of the favourites to win the PGT leaderboard. Without a doubt, I'm definitely one of the top guys.
“It would mean a lot. There's the extra $50,000, which is amazing. It's something that I think about going into the year and throughout the year. Partially made this trip for that. If this wasn't a PGT, I may not have come," further added Ausmus.
With approximately 40 events remaining in the 2024 PGT season, any player could race ahead. Ausmus could possibly get a seat in the PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll.
To qualify for the PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll, players need to have a finish in the top 40 of the PGT leaderboard along with having at least three cashes in PGT events throughout the season.
The winner of the PGT Championship will take home $500,000, with an additional sum for the final table paid as a combination of cash and a PGT Passport. The player with the highest leaderboard points will be named PGT Player of the Year and will get $50,000 PGT Passport.
